I am the King of the fish.
Monday, August 20th, 2007About three years ago I asked Rick for permission to use a Didjits tune (any one) in a promotional video for Cold War Skateboards that was going to be included on a DVD being given away to subscribers of a skateboard magazine called Concrete Wave. He said it was OK, but then I didn’t end up using a song. Three years later we got a last minute call to be included on the 2007 DVD. We didn’t have anything ready, so we went out and shot some footage for about three hours one Sunday, and I spent the next three nights after work looking at old footage, cataloging, digitizing, and editing. It was actually nice to have such a tight deadline since it prevented me from spending too much time on it. Anyway, here it is, and Rick, I hope it’s still OK to use a Didjits song.
Portland vs Chicago drivers
Thursday, January 18th, 2007When it snows here people whig out and lose their shit. Nobody drives worth a damn. I didn’t make it to this street, but I drove around all day on the same day this was shot. It’s fun being a transplanted midwesterner in Oregon. Thanks to Scary for finding this. Here’s what I did on my snow day.

Rock And Roll - (Parts 1,2, and 3)
Wednesday, November 29th, 2006Eric J’s Dogs. Rock and Roll, behind the ramp at the last Shitty Guy house on Springfield. Click the pics to enlarge. Eric may not remember, but I suggested the names for these puppies back when he got them at the second TSG house. There’s probably a lot he doesn’t remember from those days. There were many a morning that students were treated to the site of Eric J still asleep in the grass of our front yard where he passed out at night, with both dogs sleeping quietly beside him. Reminds me of a story when I returned to school in 90’s and lived with Eric and Joel, and Rock and Roll, and Jen’s dog Faux Paw and Addy(sp?), Joels dog.. One night we all went out (to E.C’s probably) and came home to find that Rock and Roll had tor into a big 20lb bag of onions. They were scattered all over the kitchen floor, with bites taken out of each one of them, but none of them eaten very much. Those dogs were serious scavengers. It’s like they had to make sure to try every single onion just in case one didn’t taste bad.
Swiv on the Quad 1985
Tuesday, November 14th, 2006late snap bonless one! Sweet. He looks like a 12 year old boy. He’s probably dropping that skateboard because it was an Uncle Wiggley that weighed about 75lbs. The tab in the corner of the full size version says OCT 85, but it was probably actually taken a bit earlier. Check out the shorts on the guy behind the sitting skater.
TSG - House 3, Ramp 2
Saturday, October 21st, 2006The ramp behind the third house on Springfield in Urbana. When we moved to Chicago to start Propaganda, I spent a couple of hours trying to dismantle it, but gave up. Latter on some kids took the remains and shortened it into a mini ramp. A couple years later I went back to Champaign to hang out with Brad and I was skating it at some kids’s house without realizing it was originally mine. Praise Coslows.

Neil makes the first purchase from Randy’s ill-fated skateshop that had Mike Timble as a silent partner. It was called You Mom’s Skate Shop. I think we made one wholesale order. Somewhere in my basement I still have a baggie full of kingpins. This was taken in my bedroom in the Yellow House or second TSG house across the street from the first one on Nevada.
