Noted Collector Timble Sells Pornography Collection for Over $52 Million

Bangkok, Thailand. In an unusual sale that gave pornography collectors cause for celebrating, Sotheby’s sold 43 shipping container boxes of pornography, out of 49 offered, for $52.4 Million. The pornography was offered for sale by noted porn collector M.V. Timble, and purchased by an anonymous buyer. The dirty pictures zoomed to new auction records. The unsold shipping containers reportedly contained erotica too disturbing for auction attendees.
Shattering pornography records is nothing new for Timble. He now has four of the top 10 most expensive pornography collections sold at auction, ahead of Larry Flint with three.
After the auction Timble explained, ”I am an avid collector of all genres of the industry, including circus freak sex, geriatric toon porn, transvestite vegetable rodeos, butt-cam documentaries, clown erotica, nineteenth century bondage porn, Tijuana ‘dog and pony’ shows, and even many fetish categories. “I love it all….straight sex doesn’t even raise my eyebrows anymore,” Timble said. “Pornography not only makes my feelings of self-loathing subside a bit, it fulfills me — accumulating filthy porn is the only thing that gives me any satisfaction in life.”
Although renowned as a collector of fine pornography, Mr. Timble is less well known as an erotic photographer and producer of pornography in his own right. Starting in his teenage years, Timble began what has grown to become a line of over 650 pornographic self-portraits. Although the collection has been offered for sale on several occasions, it has failed to attract a buyer.
In November 2005 his portfolio entitled The Mason Ruth Years fetched a very respectable $4.2 million at a Christie’s auction (although the naughty pictures themselves were less than respectable). Most recently, Timble’s hauntingly disturbing Ground Round Clown series was shown to critical acclaim at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art in Las Vegas. Timble also stars in his own line of “how to” and “do it yourself” sex DVDs and CD-ROMs.
Timble is also the founder and director of the Pornographia Society, a philanthropic body established to subsidize raunchy porn and defend against legal challenges to obscenity.
Timble’s estranged wife did not immediately return calls for an interview for this article.
(note: I was sent this to post for Timble, I should have done it sooner, but I was busy masturbating to my new collection of porn)
