Sad news. Honestly, I had been thinking about him recently and kind of assumed he had probably already passed on. I was most shocked to find out he was only ten years older than me.

Billy Hayes, I’m much richer for having known you. He’s gone on to the great ceiling fans in the sky.

Sorry to come across this. I heard about the event on the local news over the weekend prior to Billy’s name being announced. Spent a lot of my Treno’s chits around this vibrant spirit and frequently saw him near downtown Champaign on my way to work in the morning. Tough news.

Randy and I were just talking about him the other day…about how Leroy took him home to his parent’s house for Christmas one year…Sad news…”if only I had a god damn dollar…”

didnt work another day after Coslows…priceless. didnt he have a catch phrase or something? His eyes would get real big and he’d scream “Oh Lawd”!! and laugh.

Jonno just sent me this link… Very sad indeed. I worked with Billy from 1984-1986. And it was “a PRIVILEGE and a PLEASURE!!”

We know he’s in a better place now, one with no five-gallon buckets filled with shit and piss (about which he used to have nightmares), and no fiery red beards.
